Royal Copystar's new digital copier/printer, the 3000D operates at speeds up to 30 Pages-Per-Minute (PPM). This network ready, digital copier and workgroup laser printer allows users to print and collate double-sided documents right from their PCs.
This is the first model in a full line of digital copier/printers that Royal Copystar is bringing to market to provide our business customers with the state-of-the-art network connectivity required in today's computer-intensive office environments.
Designed for connection to PCs and Local Area Networks (LANs), Royal Copystar's new 3000D Digital Copier/Printer features crisp image quality with true 600 X 600 Dots-Per-Inch (DPI) Resolution for copying and 2400 X 600 DPI Resolution for printing output.
The new Royal Copystar 3000D is modular in design and can be utilized either as a stand alone digital copier or as a combination copier/network printer by adding optional printer and network interface boards.
As a digital copier, it features "scan once, print many" copying and electronic sorting and collating. Its true 600x600 DPI resolution plus 256 Halftone Levels provide sharp output for text, photos and graphics.
The 3000D starts up almost instantly, with a quick warm-up time of 45 seconds or less. First copy time is a brisk 6.5 seconds, with continuous copying of up to 99 copies.
Users can add an optional 50-sheet Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (RADF) and Duplex Unit to enable double-sided copying and automatic feeding of document sets.
Its "touch screen" control panel is easy to use, and allows access to a full range of versatile features enabled by digital technology. These include Independent Zoom, Positive/Negative Reverse, Mirror Image, Form Overlay, Booklet Mode, Page Numbering and Image Combination Mode.
The 3000D also includes Text/Photo Detection Mode, Image Shift and Edge Erase functions. Automatic Exposure enhances image quality and 25-to-400% Zoom Magnification in 1% Increments with 5 pre-set Reduction and 5 pre-set Enlargement settings simplifies use. And up to 1000 available Copy Management Account Codes facilitates usage and cost tracking.
The new 3000D has two front-loading, 550-sheet universal paper drawers. A 50-sheet Intelligent Stack Bypass increases paper capacity to 1,150 sheets and is especially convenient for copying onto letterhead, transparencies, special paper and mailing labels. Users can also choose to boost paper capacity with an additional 3000-Sheet Letter Size Paper Deck or two 550-Sheet Universal Paper Drawers.
The modular design of the new 3000D allows users to select the finishing option that best meets their needs.

The 3000D includes an IEEE Parallel Interface for connection to PCs and comes with 8MB printer memory standard, which can be upgraded with 8MB, 16MB or 32MB standard SIMMS in one slot.
When configured as a network printer, the Royal Copystar 3000D includes PCL5e emulation and a full range of installed fonts including 35 Intellifonts, 10 TrueType and one Bitmap Font. It is compatible with DOS, Windows '95/ 3.1X and Novell NetWare using Ethernet network interface.
The 3000D is ENERGY STAR™ compliant. When inactive, it will automatically "power down," reducing electrical consumption and cutting operating costs for users.
